James has been in the entertainment business since the age of 17 when he started out as a mobile DJ. Over the next number of years he built James Sexton Entertainment into one of the busiest entertainment companies in the country. James is an entertainer and is passionate about the business. He has ‘been there, done that’ in the business, from DJing to singing in bands as well as MCing at events nationally and internationally. James also does audience warm-up and he is also the warm-up act for Ireland’s Got Talent.
HIYA Event Management was created out of James Sexton Entertainment in 2000 as the company was expanding both Nationally and Internationally into different markets within the entertainment industry.
James’ biggest strength is simply creating. Most of the events at HIYA Event Management are created by James and his team. More recently James hit the headlines when his hit TV show format “Ireland’s Fittest Family” was commissioned by RTE.

The series premiered on Irish television in January 2014, and has now been on the screens for 8 series in Ireland, on prime time Irish television RTE 1. The Fittest Family format has since gone international with the show now commissioned in 7 other Countries. Fittest Family is steadinly getting global traction and becoming a well know Format Internationally. This is not James’ first time to get a programme commissioned but it is however looking like his most successful format to date. He is currently working on more TV projects in Ireland, the UK and the US. In 2019 James signed a development deal with ITV Studios London on his latest format. Watch this space for further updates!! James is also a member of the Emmy TV Club based out of New York.
In 2021, James was asked to become a Juror for the International Emmy® Awards competition, to recognize excellence in international television programming.
